SPORTS MASSAGE

At Base Fitness we are proud to offer sports massage at our Studio with Suzie.

Sports Massage can be used to treat aches and pains caused by injuries, exercise or simply our daily lives. For those who have physically-demanding occupations or train regularly to those with desk-based jobs, massage can greatly improve your wellbeing by breaking down any adhesions and tension within your muscles and developing flexibility and mobility in your soft tissue.

Massage also promotes good circulation around the body improving blood flow to transport oxygen and nutrients to the tissues as well as stimulating the parasympathic nervous system to aid relaxation.

It is also recommended for individuals who want to keep their bodies in good condition for regular training or competitions to enhance their performance and reduce risk of injuries.

Your first appointment will involve a full consultation to discuss your reason for visiting and an overview of your lifestyle and medical history. It may also involve assessments such as posture analysis, range of motion testing, palpation or functional tests to fully understand what areas would benefit from treatment.

Your first appointment will include a short initial massage to introduce you to sports massage and the therapist.

A treatment plan will be drawn up before your next full-length appointment to start your maintenance journey with us. We will also assist you with stretching at your appointments as well as provide an at-home stretching plan in order for you to actively work on your flexibility and recovery in between sessions.

Visit the Book Online page or download the Fit by Wix app (using Join Code OLX4GU) to book your appointment now. We look forward to seeing you!

Please note, there may be instances where massage is not possible. We will discuss your medical and injury status (if applicable) to ascertain if massage is safe and appropriate. Please do not be disappointed if I need to seek referral before commencing with your treatment plan. You may require another medical professional to diagnose before we work together.
